Spanning four decades of unforgettable performances and sharing the love of music, Music Express has strummed the heartstrings of many for the sole benefit of giving back to the community.

1977

Group founded by Ernie Gerenda
for Faculty of Education

1979

Launch annual community Christmas celebration with local school participation

1981

WCCB Inc. becomes incorporated
as a charitable organization

1989

Tour of Great Britain & performs for
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth

1993

Group changes name to Music Express
and adopts Show Band format

2000

The band assists Save the Children Sunshine Foundation and tours Mexico

2003

The inception of annual "Talent Showcase" talent competition for local youth

2006

The band begins annual performances with Windsor/Essex Handicapable Association

2013

Beth Dykeman becomes Musical Director as
Nino Palazzolo retires

2017

Performed at Canada 150/Windsor 125 celebration & toured Ireland

1978

Windsor Community Concert Band
established for all community musicians

1980

The band performs in Ottawa at Parliament Buildings

1982

The band performs for veterans in Washington D.C.

1992

The band tours 10 provinces in the
Peoples' Republic of China

1996

Performs for Amherstburg Bi-Centennial
and tours Eastern Europe

2001

Nino Palazzolo becomes Music Director
as Ernie Gerenda retires

2004

Initial collaboration with Theatre Alive
to perform "Chicago"

2008

The band performs fundraisers in Italy, Switzerland, Germany and France

2016

Initial musical collaboration with Migration Hall theatre company to perform “Back to Broadway”

2018

The band celebrates 40th anniversary as a community organization
